I see it everyday. Just about every business makes this same mistake. Over and over. Day after day. Doesn’t matter if they are an online business or a “brick and mortar” business.
Think about this… if you own a business, what is the most valuable asset you have? Is it your location? Nope. Your employees? Nope. What about your products or services? Nope.
By far the biggest asset a business can have is its “list”. Specifically, the client or customer list. You know what I’m talking about… the people who already know you, like you, and trust you enough to buy your products or services.
The people who have spent money at your business!
And unless you have a systematic ongoing method to REGULARLY stay in contact with these people, you are throwing thousands, and maybe tens of thousands of dollars down the drain each and every month.
I know what you’re thinking… I don’t have the time or the staff for that kind of stuff. The truth is you can’t afford NOT to do it! The good news is there is a nifty internet marketing tool out there called an auto responder that does all the work for you and is so cheap you won’t believe it.
So what’s an auto responder?
Quite simply, it is software designed to send emails to people automatically. Essentially you set up a sequence of prewritten emails that are sent out to your prospects or customers on a regular predetermined basis.
Think of it as your Autopilot Marketing Machine! Works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week building your business. Never takes a day off or asks for a raise.
The importance of this cannot be underestimated. If you need to generate sales fast, your existing list of prospects and customers can’t be beat! The bottom line is the more people you have on your list that are interested in your products or services, the more sales you will make.
I plan on doing a video to show you exactly what I’m talking about. In the meantime you can go here to get more info. Later.

Gregory,
Interesting question. I'll answer your question with a question. What do you do with an email that has a “free gift” or “discount”? I'd guess you treat it the same way as you do those inheritance emails.
Auto-responding is so 2008. Today, if someone is smart enough to create an auto-responder, they should be smart enough to know that the desired result might not be what they were hoping for.

LOLOL Joel. I will be buying them from Amazon of course. I don't think print will die. I just think bookstores will. Brick and mortar will. Business will move mostly online be it ebook or print. Given that, I think most people will own e-readers and buy ebooks for instant gratification. If they love a book or it's by a fave author they may also buy it in print (though the best case scenario would be publishers bundling and giving you E for a dollar more if you buy print).

I beg to differ with the first answer to this question, because you can.
It is not an exact science, but if you use Yahoo's Keyword selector tool called Overture (rumor has it that this may not be around much longer)
it shows 114615 searches for internet marketing for the month of February 2007.
Now if you figure the overall "search" market that Yahoo has compared to Google, MSN and the rest ie. Google=70%;
Yahoo=20%, MSN=9% and the other 1% is shared by the hundreds of other search engines out there today.
Then the 114615 is roughly 20% of the times in February that the Phrase "Internet Marketing" was searched for.

This statement is equivalent to Hishammuddin raising the keris at previous Umno assemblies.
It seems to represent the Umno entrenched belief that they have some God-given and unlimited right to rule this country.
So Umno can tell the judiciary to release any person who has been imprisoned? Since there was stomping on the floor from the audience, it is an accepted fact that the judges are Umno's puppets?
The biggest mistake was to not have unseated Umno from power, firmly and decisively, in the last GE

Hi. Wow, You said you're on 49 different directories and not getting any business from them. Does that include Yahoo, Google and MSN? I find it hard to believe that you can be listed in so many places and not get any customers or traffic. Maybe your listings or products are basic and don't stand out. Try optimizing your web site. also if you don't have a brick and mortar business then you're posting in the wrong directories.

Cultural superiority sounds like a subjective idea to me. What is seen as great in one culture can be seen as not-so-great in others.
Take for example the idea of valuing the earth as superior/inferior. Native Americans have always believed and practiced life on the basis that mankind needed to respect the earth and nature as much as possible in order to live well…..but it took westerners centuries to make that part of their daily life. Now 'going green" and environmentalism is suddenly becoming a trend…what was seen as primitive is now being revered….

Thanks for your comment, Jay & Tayna. You're right – a blog is not a traditional way to earn online revenue. If that's your only goal – it's probably not the best marketing tool for you. However, if your goal is to gain credibility, stimulate thinking, or become connected with a group of like-minded individuals then it's worth it.
Plus – it's just flat out a lot of work and people tend to forget that.
After reading this article and the comments, all I can say is people, “get a grip” and “get a clue”.
Anonymous,
It is silly to think that any owner, having invested thousands of dollars in a PSV and having paid thousands of dollars in insurance premium would run the risk of incurring a loss by allowing an unlicensed driver to operate his vehicle. No insurance company would honour his claim in the event of an accident. You are allowing your prejudice to impede logical thinking.
When you consider that these drivers are on the congested roads of Barbados every day, fifteen or more hours a day, there accident rate is extremely low.

The market is still correcting from the bubble? People are still reluctant to buy realestate? “Improving” doesn’t mean people suddenly have thousands of dollars on hand to buy. They need to save again to put down payments. That takes years.
Okay have you tried powering off the router and the modem. then unplug them for 30 seconds.
When you get a connection that just means that you are connected to the router not the internet.
If the power off doesn't work. try connecting you your router.
Go you to address bar and type in 192.168.2.1 for belkin. If you have lynksis google router ip address for your brand of router.
that should open your router. check to make sure that the settings are correct. If you are unsure just reset the router entirely. on the back of the router is a reset button. You need to hold it down for 10 seconds or more. Then release the button. You might have to hold down the button and after ten seconds unplug the router and then plug it back in. (whichever your brand of router is.)
If reseting the router doesn't work. Find your operating system cd. put it in.
When the splash screen comes up. Click on the repair option. This will scan your system and replace any damage files with the ones that came on your install cd.
lol when he said cadillac realized there average owner is 112 years old
No, you just don’t get it. It doesn’t matter if it costs EA $1,000,000 or $0 to run the service. The bottom line is that they run it and they decide who gets to use it and who does not. The person who buys a new copy of the game also gets the benefit of using the online service; the one who buys a used copy does not unless he pays for it. It’s not an argument, it’s a fact.
Using an auto-responder would be ideal I think. Is there a way to completely automate this process? Say…
How to Set up an Out-of-Office Vacation Auto-Response in Windows Live Hotmail
Your Guide to Email.
FREE Newsletter. Sign Up Now!
Don't you like those emails that just disappear? You send them and… well, that's about it. Did the intended recipient ever receive it? Will they reply later or do they not reply intentionally? Have they just forgotten? Behind on email? Or are they on vacation maybe?
You don't want to be on either end of such a disappearing email message — and while you cannot deal with incoming emails promptly (because you're travelling, say, or busy with a project that requires deep and prolonged thinking), Windows Live Hotmail can let expecting senders know. Of course, you can tell them when you'll be able to get back to them personally — or when they should re-send their message if they still haven't gotten a reply not automated.
Set up an Out-of-Office Vacation Auto-Response in Windows Live Hotmail
To make Windows Live Hotmail reply to incoming emails in your absence:
Select Options | More options… from the Windows Live Hotmail toolbar (just Options in Windows Live Hotmail Classic).
Follow the Send automated vacation replies link under Manage your account.
Make sure Send vacation replies to people who e-mail you is selected.
Type your desired out-of-office message under Enter the message you'd like to send while you're away:.
Possibly include approximate info on when you will be able to reply personally.
Who to contact in the meantime or an alternative way of reaching you might also be appropriate.
In general, keep the message simple. Something like "I'm currently unable to read my mail, sorry! Come February, I'll get back to you. In the meantime, you can…" shall do.
The subject Windows Live Hotmail uses for automatic replies is "Vacation reply", by the way.
If you frequently get mail from people not yet in your Windows Live Hotmail address book, make sure Only reply to your contacts is not checked.
Click Save.
Windows Live Hotmail will now reply to all incoming emails (or just those from people already in your address book) — but only once for each four-day period per contact.
Turn Off the Windows Live Hotmail Auto-Responder
To disable your auto-reply when you return, follow the steps above but make sure Don't send any vacation replies is selected.
Ok, I cede on the irrational aspect, but my point still stands. Take the sequence 0.5555x (base 11), where x is unknown. Do you round up, or down? In the previous post I was just trying to generalize that case. Bottom line: I’m not trying to make a huge fuss about this, I only wanted to point out (in a very armchair philosomath-way) that in an even base the most significant digit always determines rounding, whereas the least significant digit sometimes does it in an odd base.

I must say that thas the internet becomes more and more prevalent (everything from banking, to taxes, to grocery shopping even) the issue of privacy becomes more and more of a concern. Im a thirty year old female, and I’ve been using the internet for more than half my life. I now check my bank balance and my credit card statements, and i rarely venture out to a B&M store (brick and mortar – nifty internet speak for an actual physical store) preferring to utilize comparison shopping and online discounts for a more convenient means of shopping and a more competitive price. I’m no internet newbie, but I have to HONESTLY admit that I don’t fully know where my information goes or who can access it. Facebook for example, when updating their site to the new user interface, made their privacy settings convoluted and confusing. Several disguised clicks were needed to update the ad sharing info. I think that as we become more relient on the internet for shopping, finances, and social interaction, we need legislation put in place that advocates for US, the user, to require websites to disclose, in plain language, where our personal information goes, and how we the users can easily control how much information we wish to share.
Man, fuck Sauron. Watching me through mountains and walls… Sending tens of thousands of orcs after me. Talk about broken. Here’s a toast to doing things the right way, by breaking them!

Well, we shall know shortly. Bottom line is that I am still waiting for bearish evidence. And until I get that the trend remains the trend. This dip down needs to continue and that fast. May happen tomorrow – but look – today’s tape was not particularly bullish, no – but it wasn’t bearish and it should have been. If tomorrow’s tape changes my outlook may as well.

Barb,
So let me get this straight, you are against letting 540 snowmachines in Yellowstone per day that are supposed to stay on designated trails, when very few animals are around, because it does not meet your idea of a peaceful sactuary.
So are you also against the tens of thousands of vehicles, along with the tens of thousands of people, who are constantly causing traffic jams, pulling off of the road in non designated turn outs, photographers and wild life watchers lined up on ridges on roadsides trying to get that perfect shot and even sometimes harrassing animals to accomplish that. Or is this type of a scenario you idea of a peacful sanctuary?

Theegamedude, where do you think your compassion came from? Yes, it evolved. What is the evolutionary advantage of compassion? Compassion enables cooperation. And with cooperation, physically weaker males can overpower a dominant alpha. And cooperating males in one tribe will win a war against a tribe of uncooperative males. Civilization is based on male cooperation, but once a civilization becomes an empire, this cooperation tends to fall apart. You can read more at coalpha.org .

Speaking about lyrics, I think the bottom line is to not be lazy. It’s unreal how much music has the stupidest, laziest lyrics imaginable. If you don’t care enough about the song to come up with something decent, why should anyone else care? You don’t have to be a poetic genius, just for Christ’s sake put a little effort into it.
No, that is the brick and mortar stores ripping people off. They charge so much because they can. Keep in mind, Australia is rather isolated and difficult to get to. If you are smart, you import your games for about $60.
Judging the real environmental impact of one activity verus another can be a guessing game (paper or plastic? disposable or cloth diapers?). Quantifying the cumulative life cycle environmental effects of products and services is a laborious task but the only way to decide which product or service is more environmentally benign. Environmental Life Cycle Assessment studies have actually researched Amazon and other mail order services vs. brick-and-mortar stores. The Amazon rep is right about factoring in the impact of driving a product home yourself vs. the UPS truck. There is also the effect of having several stores vs. one centralized distribution center. Anyway, transportation is the most significant variable here, and the verdict depends on the amount you carry home, the distance from the store, and the density of your city. Shipping and rail freight use several times less fuel per pound than shipping by truck. In short, there’s no one right answer, it depends. One thing is for sure, though: A 2006 life cycle assessment of e-readers like the Kindle versus print newspapers and books came out heavily in favor of the e-reader. (www.eiolca.net)

For a while now I haven't been auto-following anyone. Maybe that's a twittersnob but I like to have some utility and value. I know I haven't gotten the onslaught of annoying auto-responder DMs I hear folks moan about.
I've also learned to follow others without expecting a follow-back. Maybe if I have something interesting to say at some point, then they might choose to follow me, in any case it doesn't really matter. I love my twitterworld and I can grow it or shrink it at any time.
A few thoughts back:
If people thought about the case for two minutes, they would have realized that the store was acting in an egregious manner. The store knew that Ms. Lohan had left the store with the necklace. The store could not have known if Ms. Lohan took it purposefully or simply forgot she had it on and walked out by mistake. (The store knew that she had been wearing it for 45 minutes in the store). Under the circumstances, the reasonable thing to do was to assume she had taken it by mistake and call her to return it or send a check to pay for it. Instead the store called the police. The store was obviously much more interested in getting a million dollars worth of free publicity than acting in a reasonable fashion. Besides the free publicity, now, apparently, they have gotten hundreds of thousands of dollars for the surveillance tape. It is apparent that it is the store owner who falsely accused Ms. Lohan of stealing the necklace She should be the one under arrest.
Sure. You do not need a belt IF YOU ARE NOT MAXING OUT. But you read so many posts about people doing SS to get into lifting. Is that not maxing out on your 5RM? Even if you are not maxing out, do you not ever want to know what your true “whatever” RM is? The bottom line is that if you want to stay below 70% or 80% of your max all the time, then fine, roll the dice and gamble at the small chance that a mistake will happen. If you plan on ever maxing out, or even going to 85%-90% of your max, then why gamble? It is is not worth the risk whatsoever.

I have recently begun a new business after relocating to another state. SBDC has provided excellent business development advice, and especially good marketing expertise. The staff is professional, prompt, and knowledgable, and they know how to find the information to which they do not have immediate access. I had talked with SCORE about similar business ideas prior to moving, and thieir broad comments were helpful, but the individualized and more specific assistance from SBDC was a better match for my needs than the approach offered by SCORE. I am now learning about the Internet marketing options that I believe will be necessary to adequately publicize my book and services to my target market. Because of the individualized approach, they are able to target their time and trainings to the specific needs of their clients. I feel I have a business coach that I can access as needed as I move my business forward.

0 0GodsPlan said:During my year teaching career, I have often heard the remarks about having summers off and only ‘working’ 185 days a year. I really hope someday, the public can truly see what teachers do each day. For example, when are teachers supposed to learn about the new programs, standards, and curriculum mandated by our government? It certainly cannot take place in class while the students are in attendance. Instead it is done on our personal time. We are mandated to attend workshops and take graduate level classes designed to develop that knowledge so we may better implement these innovations. As stated prior, this is not during our contractual time, but on our own time over the summer and on weekends. Please give thought to all the reports, legal documents, data and student work that needs to be reviewed and assessed? The perception is that we simply grade papers by stamping a ‘B’ at the top of the paper. I people to look deeper in to what classroom assessment is truly like in our classrooms today. Imagine your job evaluation…now multiply that by 27 students by 8 subjects. When are the materials for those lessons gathered and when are the PowerPoint presentations put together to help students follow along during instruction? It is done after they leave, between the hours of 4:30 pm and 7:00 pm. Yes, some teachers choose to take their work home with them so they can at least be close to their family while working. However, for those of you who work from home, you understand that “working from home” doesn’t always translate into “spending quality time with the family”. For me personally, I have no family since my divorce. While I neglected my family obligations for the sake of ‘my students’, I convinced myself that coming home nightly by 8 pm was only temporary and would soon dissipate once I got a handle on my professional life. Now, here I am 15 years later, and I still spend my weekends writing lesson plans and identifying ways differentiate my classroom instruction. For those of you outside the educational world, Differentiated Instruction or ‘DI’ for short refers to the practice of teaching the same concept several different ways so that every student in a class can understand. Simply put, each day I will teach a concept such as ‘graphing equations’ or ‘The Revolutionary War’ 7 different ways to 7 different groups of students (usually 4-5 students in each group). By doing that for 8 subjects as stated before, it’s quite similar to preparing 7 different dinners for 7 groups of 4 people, 8 different times, within 6 hours…Monday through Friday. With regard to our salaries, I saw an earlier post about ‘TheChampion.org’ website in Illinois…please know that those salaries also include the TRS (pension) portion and any paid extra-curricular activities such as after-school clubs, coaching etc. While I assume it is obvious to most, these responsibilities are carried out after the normal hours of school operation. Teachers aren’t always required to participate in such activities, yet many do so simply to make extra money and to provide opportunities for students. Finally, putting into perspective what a typical $45K salary may look like after teaching more than a decade, I thought I would list my financial breakdown for this school year below: First Check (paid in the middle of the month)Beginning Balance = $1400.00Credit Card #1 = 475.00Internet (no cable) = 64.95Credit Card #2 = 205.00Car/Property Insurance = 112.83Heating/Cooking Gas = 45.00 (budget plan)Cell Phone = 85.00Water Bill 20.00Ending Balance = $392.27 Second Check (paid at the end of the month)Beginning Balance = $1400.00Child Support = 300.00Car Payment = 389.45Electric Bill = 35.00 (budget plan)Rent = 530Ending Balance= $145.36 Living ExpensesBeginning Balance=$537.82Gas ($60 x 4 weeks)=240.00Groceries ($65 x 4 weeks)=260.00Savings=25.00 Final Balance = $12.82 To close, my purpose in writing response is not to argue any point on either side of a much-debated issue. It is merely to provide insight as to what one teacher’s life is like, given that there are thousands of us who genuinely are trying to make a difference.Thank you for your time in reading this post and I wish each one you the best during this challenging and uncertain time in our country.

As the owner of a small business, well a nano-business really, my solution is simple. I offer a 2% discount for cash or check. Simple and straightforward. I am pleasantly surprised how many customers put away the plastic and pull out the cash.
The price point is way to high. Justifying the $3 cost for a 48hr window when they don’t have the same overhead as a traditional brick and mortar, vending machines or mail order will be difficult when you are going up against the likes of Hulu and Netflix. WB has the right idea and they could be successful if they meet the generational expectations and price demands.
The store (local brick and mortar) I bought the kit from sold me a modified starter kit. I already had 3 glass carboys at the time of purchase (found them near a dumpster!!!), so I just bought the rest of the essentials + 1 extract kit. I assumed that the first carboy would have been 6 gallons, but I did not check myself. I still have the other two in the basement. I’m definitely pumped for my first batch. Will definitely post pictures once the fermentation is complete.

true Chris made the biggest mistake, and one that some people will probably never forget or forgive but he’s young and so is Rihanna and the only way to move forward is to accept it, learn from it, and grow. we all mess up and if someone never has i applaud them but lets allow room for growth for both of them. pCe&LuV!
The problem is that Monster.com is not so much a job site as a marketing tool. Thus, there are tons of ads for online “universities” and resume analysis outfits. If a company is willing to buy the space for ads, they're willing to take that money. Companies on the Internet (match.com, Careerbuilder, etc.) stopped caring about the customers long ago.
Personally, it’s refreshing to see not only that this bakery exists, but that someone is actually writing about the fact the baker doesn’t need to waste their time worrying about a Facebook page or some other technology “fix”. It’s easy to forget that until fifteen years ago, every successful business ever known to humankind somehow managed the same trick! It is in a way, somewhat obvious though that a brick-and-mortar business in a small town (apparently big enough to support it) can do well without the standard tech accessories if they are selling something in high demand. I know in my bedroom-town suburb of 40,000 that if a real, decent bakery opened up at one of the three small shopping plazas we have out here, they would not even need to advertise let alone bother with any web activity.
Yeah, I think this will have major lasting consequences for EA/Bioware. There is an enormous amount of “social networking” bullshit when you log into your account to check on, or purchase DLC through their web site. They’ve been making a big push for “community” as a marketing tool.
for me, just format your computer….lol…that's the easiest way….
or
you can try use pay antivirus to remove the viruses…maybe the viruses are still there but some free antivirus cant detect powerfull viruses….if you can tell me what kind of virus that attacked your computer maybe it'll help….for me, kaspersky and bitdefender is the best antivirus but it'll slow your computer a little bit…
th birth mom is probably jelous of the relationship that you and your husband are having with your step daughter. i agree with you when you have children biologically or by marriage your life resolves around them. you want to protect them in any way. my advise would be for you and your husband have a talk with your step daughter and see what she wants to do. if she wants to be with you and your husband you might be able to since she is over the age of 13. she has a decision to weater to be with her birth mom or birth dad. but before taking any drastic mesures, please talk to her and listen to what she has to say. she might be hesitant about the situation since she will have to choose between her mother and her father, but just remind her that she will always be loved no matter where she is.
he looks so gay baby baby OAAAAAAAAAAAA BABY BABY OAWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAA

Well said, Blouise. I didn't want to go there — I was looking for some other explanation but, bottom line, in the absence of any other information, that's exactly what it appears to be: a cold-blooded murder.
Audacity is free but not in the same league as Pro Tools
P # NP is indeed different. As Circe suggest complexity classes have physical tangible relations by way of physical systems (computers) characteristics. I recommend Scott Aaronsson’s paper on this problem and how it relates to observable physics.
I have mixed feelings on this.
DX is still ftw!
From all the sources I’ve read Facebook is cash flow positive and revenue next year is projected to be over $1.1B. How is that NOT monetizing 500M users? Now that still doesn’t add up to a $33B valuation….however…one would have to be EXTREMELY short sighted to not see the very real potential in Facebook that is being realized every day.
First, you are not necessarily having the same experience as this guy’s advertisers (who are catering to outdoors hobbyists rather than software consumers).Second, this guy is being ‘creative’ by creating actual content which people want to watch. It’s not like he’s started with the idea of generating traffic spikes and then determined that the path to success is mini-documentaries about big trucks or coastal sailing. This guy is working just as hard as you, and just because he works with a camera instead of a computer you are taking a dump on him. Why are you talking about ‘whackamole sites…worth a few tens of dollars a year,’ when he was outlining a situation in which his Youtube content was worth at least $18,000 a year – I assume it is at least as profitable for Google as it was for him.
i would definetly hire a seo all-star thats way too expensive.
Tim, I am curious as to whether or not you are going to expand this to include virtual worlds such as Second Life in which a lot of business is also done – both by those who run businesses exclusively in Second Life and those who have a “brick and mortar” business in the “real world,” but also have a Second Life presence. Will you be discussing virtual world networking also and whether it makes sense to use other forms of social networking for virtual world businesses? I ask this especially in terms of the open source projects going on which will allow many more virtual worlds to be opened up and linked to each other, thus hopefully creating even more opportunities for running businesses that are more than a web site but don't have the overhead of brick and mortar.
Given that there are people who make 100% of their “first life” living from their Second Life businesses, I am very interested in the topic of promoting virtual world businesses.
Thanks,
Doreen
The Republican version of Poodle Pelosi. “Little does she know, that the biggest mistake in US history was the election of an illegal, ursurping, anti American socialist pile of $hit, the puppet named Buckwheat Huckleberry Osama or is it Barry Satero, a Muslim who claims to be Christian yet knows nothing about our history or christianity, one who HIDES his past from the people and pays handsomely to keep it hidden”. The Republictards praised and loved Bush and Cheney and their CIA phony war, and their TWIC Permission to Work REAL ID that’s being enforced by the military on private sector Citizens, and the Demoquitters praise and defend an illegal flip flopping socialist. The very socialist who’s sister, and brother are in our country ‘illegally’ and let us not forget his illegal aunt who refused to leave our country THREE times and now is still living here on disability and has never worked one day of her life here or paid one penny in taxes. BOTH parties are extinct! BOTH are self serving, and sold to the higgest bidder. The republictards dream of the NWO, and the demoquitters dream of global unity and solidarity. SAME goal, different party methods.
People turn online to review everything lately. Whether it’s books, music, movies, or food, you can find out quickly what others think of things. If you’re a local business, you need to be monitoring these reviews, as well as seeking out reviews from your customers.
> I’m talking about TENS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS here! You decided to waste several quarters of college racking up thousands of dollars in debt. You weren’t too concerned with debt around year 3 or 4 when you were no closer to a degree than you are now. > six months out of school and loans are due. Then take one class and not a full load of classes. Put all your effort into that one class, since you can’t seem to be successful at taking a full load of classes. > I said I have a minimum wage job. From your text portion of your post “I’m living with my kind, loving, generous, but extremely disappointed mother who has paid for everything this whole time.” What are you spending your money on if it isn’t living expenses? There are a lot of jobs out there that pay more for minimum wage, you just have to look for them and be a good worker.
yes because I’m sure starting out your career tens of thousands of dollars in debt won’t hurt your financial mobility

The emphasis of the course is on how to make a (very good to excellent) living through blogging, rather than on how to use blogging as a marketing tool for other businesses. But from being aware of the scope of Andy and Darren’ s knowledge and the very practical business sense they both have, I know there would also be terrific value in this course for someone wanting to- if I may make the distinction- blog for business, rather than blogging as business.
The combination of the new logo and this tune makes my willy go PING!
I’ll play devil’s advocate here (though I don’t think this is actually what happened):• TechCrunch knows that they’re going to have to throw their readers and anti-AOL bone at some point. There had to be a post like this eventually; they hyped it and everyone expected it. If so this would be a really easy sacrifice to make on that alter. It’s so removed from the core AOL that there’s very little damage to be done. In fact, a few of these could cover up more serious editorial jiggering, which would probably be done through more discreet channels.

Im a nas fan & all but hip hop will never go back to what it once was! Everyone who’s knowledgeable enough to know the great music of the golden Era know it’ll never go back to that essence! Nowadays we got artists like jcole drake lupe who i listen to & vets like jay em kanye raekwon jadakiss who still got hot shit! So everytime he says hip hop is dead to me it sounds more like your new shit is dead to our ears! Aside from distant relatives i heard nothing else! & nas never been the braggadocious type but nowadays you gotta market yaself & utilize every outlet for ya brand & seeing how he had to write a letter to la reid for his new shit to be put out says to me ppl aint checking for that so if saying “hip hop is dead” is your marketing tool nas then bring back the hip hop you feel we lacking! find a way like lupe did! Cause to me hip hop is alive & breathing!
The demographic information you have on the users still doesn’t make them more targeted beyond the geographic segmentation. If however you’re doing multiple deals per city, per day based on more than one demographic metric then it’s targeted. ie. I’m a local brick-and-mortar business (I’m not) who wants to advertise to men between the ages of 25-35 in my city and only those. Then you’ve got a targeted play. Otherwise it isn’t more targeted than the local newspaper other than your particular demographics are likely younger. It’s still a shotgun approach to your entire user base in each location = not targeted.
Hello Jim,yes, I have burnt bridges, on bad advice, going something like this: “If you burn your bridges you have to win.” Maybe good advice for some, but never in relationships. As you said so well, be the bigger person, have the bigger heart. Kindness and generosity can never harm you, and often pay off.Kai Druhl´s last blog ..Personal Development as Self Discovery- The Role Of Action In Internet Marketing

I can understand being frustrated with general education classes. I'm having to borrow the money to go to college and graduate school and it frustrates me to have to pay thousands of dollars for classes not in my field. I do love learning, but I always felt like there could be some way to accomplish both things. School is very expensive, even without taking classes not in your major.

I heard from a source it was a technical issue but I am not sure.
awesome
I'll give it a pop.
I would assume that it means mortar because, well that's what they used to build walls, but also it becomes the weapon because there is also a mortar and pestle, which smash and obliterate things, and that's what the weapon does.
Just a guess though… ^.^

I never imagined someone writing a post on internet marketing based on Charlie Sheen.
Good idea. Too much friction though…

I believe moderation should be used to keep out spam, but not to keep out other people’s point of view if it differs. With my on-line business I moderate comments, but give the opportunity to “clean it up” if inappropriate, rather than total dismissal. The same goes for my brick and mortar business. I allow anyone to enter the building. If they would happen to become obscene, I would ask them to change their behavior or to leave. Otherwise, all comments and complaints are accepted. I have learned more in life from the things I don’t want to hear rather than the ones I do. Again, none of this includes obscene behavior, just different outlooks. I was a little shocked with the “my house, my rules” phrase. Most full-blooded renegades aren’t too fond of “rules”!
Post : Going Virtual: Can It Work for Your Business? URL : Posted : March 17, 2011 at 10:00 am Author : Amber Singleton Riviere Tags : Amazon, Collaboration, Hearbreaker Fashion, virtual business Categories : As someone who works exclusively via the web, it’s interesting to talk with brick-and-mortar business owners who haven’t yet considered the possibilities of working remotely. The conversation quickly moves to ways to streamline work, increase the talent pool available to the company, and — most fun of all — unique and exciting ways to promote the business online. Going Virtual With Products Especially if you’re dealing with a physical product, there will always be a need for manufacturing facilities, but unless you’re creating a custom- or hand-made product for each and every customer, it’s likely your company already outsources, or in some way remotely manages,…
LOL. Oh Michael, you keep me young. Saying blockbuster will end up in the deadpool from the netflix competition is like saying bestbuy will end up in the deadpool because you can find electronics much cheaper on countless websites. The brick and mortar business world in America works much differently then the goofy, lots-of-things-don't-make-sense internet world which you are used to, please don't try to be an economist.
If I ran a brick and mortar business, I could see how Square would be useful. But the source link and every discussion thread here are discussing e-commerce solutions, not Paypal’s virtual terminal [1].[1]:

None of us know your complete situation, so everyone saying do it or don’t do it is just bullshit. Bottom line, if you think it could be hot and you could enjoy it, do it. If your not going to both enjoy it, don’t.
Yeah a video game where you can win tens of thousands over more tournaments than you could ever participate in, can’t see why at all.
As for career options, you can continue to go to school and eventually become a professor, which does of course mean some teaching, but can be a mainly research position.
Or, you could do what I did (a history major who taught for several years before leaving teaching) – I'm a public historian. I work in the preservationist field. Particularly, I work for a state agency, though there are jobs like this available at country, municipal and national levels, with programs such as local history preservation, museum preservation and the National Register program. As a matter of fact, I work closely with a colleague who received his Master's degree with a concentration in military history – He is my agency's Military History Historian.
I don't think that employers are particularly impressed by online graduate degrees. However, if (and this is a big "if") you are interested in Texas history, Sam Houston St. offers an online program that apparently is considered excellent by various state historians.
Good luck!
When Chris Christie also gave a multi-million no bid deal to buddies Herb Stern and John Inglesino and then Inglesino raised tens of thousands for his campaign, there was no “quid pro quo”.When Assemblyman Richard Merkt said that same John Inglesino tried to bribe Merkt to drop out of the Governor’s race with a “major position”, it was denied, and Christie knew nothing about it anyway. And when Chris Christie went the wrong way down a one way street, causing an accident, sending the biker he hit to a trauma center – then didn’t get a ticket when he identified himself as US Attorney – he did nothing wrong. And when Christie was caught in an apparent lie about being sued by that biker, that was just a misunderstanding and he had forgot. And when Chris Christie was stopped for speeding in an unregistered and uninsured vehicle, only to pull rank and not get a ticket, his position as US Attorney had nothing to do with him being able to leave without his car being towed. When Christie hijacked the Race to the Top application process, only to lose $400 million for the state’s students and then get caught in at least two apparent lies, that wasn’t his fault – it was Obama’s and Bret Schundler’s.
I went to three stores that were all sold out of RIFT, and the only reason I wanted to go to those stores. I just wanted it on DVD to jump in and play sooner, but of course I went right home and just bought it online. Had to wait overnight, but it was totally worth it. Brick-and-mortar failed yet another consumer, and gave me just one more reason to stick with digital distribution. P.S.: if you have ever liked an MMO you should enjoy RIFT, it’s excellent.
Working for pennies or paying thousands of dollars to work?
